Solid bench

Good bench well made for the money. We looked at benches at Target Walmart OSH in this price range and they were either wobbly or not as wide as this bench.

We kind of took a risk in buying this without looking in person but we are pleased with it.

Installation was straight forward although I could not get the bench seat to screw in on the 2 sides.



BEWARE: there is a very cheap and tacky looking sign/plaque on the back of the bench. It is their brand VIFAH fully spelled out and it looked terrible. It is oval shaped and located on the center back at the highest point of the back. I removed the 2 nails holding it and now I have 2 small holes. Great for the Price

Makes a great bench and table combo

Easy to follow instructions. Just add 9 ea. 2*4's. We made ours from 6' PT lumber. Two benches can be converted to a picnic table for added space when needed. I would not make this any longer than 6' even though the instructions indicate you can. Much beyond 6' you'd get a bow when average weight people sit. Even at 6' we had to add a stabilizer on the underside of the seat portion to give added strength to the 2*4's. One other caveat - be careful where your hands are located when lifting this. We assembled it on a table and then had to lift it to the ground. In the "bench" position the back does not lock and can easily flip up and pinch fingers - as we now know from experience. It is however a nice project and gives versatility when entertaining. I'd have rated it a "5" if the back locked in place.More detail ...

Love it!

I was a bit wary of ordering this without a photo -- but I'm so glad I went ahead and took the plunge! It's similar in design to the other Strathmore wood benches on Amazon -- horizontal slats across the back and seat with wood arms and legs. Assembly was simple and the delivery was fast. We plan on giving the bench a coat of water sealer before sitting it outside in order to protect the color (which is a very pretty brownish/red). The bench is comfortable without a cushion though you certainly could add one if you wanted. It's a "true" three-seater bench -- even if the three "seats" are big ones however I'd be hesitant to put three really large people on it as there is no center support brace on the bottom (I'd put the lightest person in the middle). All in all this seems to be a great bench and the price is fantastic especially considering that the shipping is free (or was when I got it). Not having to pick it up at a store and struggle to get it in and out of a car was wonderful.More detail ...

worked well

I needed two ten foot benches to fill an area on my patio. I purchased 3 sets of bench ends and used 3 bench ends per bench 1 on each end and 1 in the middle. It worked really well. The product specifies to use 2 x 4's for bench seat back and supports but I used 5/4" cedar decking for the seat and back and used 2 x 4's for the supports. Very Sturdy Well Made

These are great as benches. I would not suggest making them more than five feet long however. The instructions say you can make them up to eight feet long but as a bench this would only work if no one ever sat in the middle and I can't imagine why anyone would want an eight foot long table that was 15-inches wide. I made four benches each four feet long. I used pressure treated lumber and the hardware provided. Assembly was easy and the finished product looked and worked just as I expected.
